Deployment and reboot policies

Deployment and reboot policies are used to define the days and time ranges during which one or more assets can install patches and/or reboot via Cyberwatch.

Create and manage deployment and reboot policies

Deployment and reboot policies management is available in the Settings > Deployment and reboot policies menu.

To create a deployment and reboot policy, click on Add.

  • The “Type” field is used to choose the type of policy to create (deploying or rebooting policy).
  • The “Name” field is used to identify the policy.
  • The “Recurrence” field defines the days during which the policy will be launched.
  • The “Start time” and “End time” fields define the time range during which the asset(s) are allowed to apply patches or reboot.
  • The “Scheduling mode” field defines the way the policy will be launched:
    • In manual mode, the policy is used as a default value when planning to reboot or deploy patches on the assets.
    • In automatic mode, the policy is used to automatically schedule the reboot and deployment of patches during the period.

Assign a policy to one or more assets

  1. Go to the Inventory view
  2. Select the concerned asset(s)
  3. Click on the button “Bulk edit” and “Update the deploying period” or “Update the rebooting period
  4. Then select the policy from the list

Remove a policy from one or more assets

  1. Go to the Inventory view
  2. Select the concerned asset(s)
  3. Click on the button “Bulk edit” and “Update the deploying period” or “Update the rebooting period
  4. Then select “Remove deploying period” or “Remove rebooting period
