Hyper-V discoveries
Hyper-V discoveries list the virtual machines in an Hyper-V host through a WinRM connection.
Prerequisites
- WinRM set-up and activated on the Hyper-V host
- Matching WinRM credentials in Cyberwatch
Configure WinRM access
For information about how to setup a WinRM connection, please read the dedicated section of the documentation.
The account accessing the host via WinRM must at least be Hyper-V Administrator for the discovery to run smoothly. If the account’s permissions are insufficient, the discovery will generate an empty or incomplete list, and might even throw an error.
To register your WinRM credentials into Cyberwatch:
- Go to Stored credentials, and click Add
- Depending on your need, select one of the WinRM credential types
- Fill in the name of the credential set
- Fill in the username, password, and the other pieces of information that might be requested
- Fill in the remaining fields and confirm
